Memory Book FAQs
Can I use digital photos in my book?
Yes, if they are high resolution digital photos,
they will work
fine. How many photos can I use in my heirloom book?
Your memory book will contain 3 - 7 photos per spread (two facing
pages). So, you can determine the approximate number of photos
based on the number of pages in your book. If in doubt, always
err on the side of too many photos versus too few.
How long is the interview?
We interview the subject(s) of the book for 8 - 10 hours, usually
over the course of a weekend (though if you are in close proximity
we can spread this out over several days). If there are two subjects
(a husband and wife, for example), we would spend the same number
of hours and interview them separately for part of the time and
together for part of the time. Can I do the interview myself?
Yes, you can. We can provide you with questions and interviewing
tips. The overall cost of the book will be less if you do your
own interview. However, we caution you not to do it yourself
if you are not completely comfortable with the process. How long will my book be?
You determine how many pages you would like your book to be. We
can make any size you like. How many copies of the book will I receive?
Your order includes 10 copies. More copies may be requested either
during the process of creating the book or after it has been
finished.
How long will it take to complete my heirloom book?
It is a long process to create your unique memory book. After
the interview has been completed, the production time is 12 -
14 weeks or more.
Can you come to my home out of state to
conduct the interview?
Absolutely. We travel all over the U.S. to capture people's stories.
Please note that there will be additional travel charges. DVD FAQs Can I use digital photos in my DVD?
Absolutely. We can use either digital photos, hard copies or a
combination of both. How many photos can I use in my DVD?
You can use up to 100 photographs in your DVD. Fewer photographs
typically result in longer transitions between each photo. We
suggest between 50 - 100. If you want more than 100, call for
details & pricing. How long will my DVD be?
Your DVD will be about 10 - 15 minutes depending on the number
of photographs and the transition time for each picture. A DVD
of this length tends to be optimal; not too long to bore people
nor too short to do justice to the subject matter. If you wish,
however, we can make longer DVDs with more photos. Contact us
for details & pricing. What kind of music should I choose?
We suggest choosing something that the subject of the DVD would
particularly enjoy. Also, consider the tempo; if you want a wedding
or anniversary DVD, the tempo is typically slower than a DVD
for your teen's Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Can the slideshow be played on a computer as well as a DVD player?
Yes. All of our DVDs can be played on a stand-alone DVD player
or on your desktop or laptop computer, provided you have a DVD
drive on your computer. How long will it take to complete my DVD?
Our turnaround time is 2 - 3 weeks, however, we do offer a rush
service. The cost of the rush service varies from $15 - $30 depending
on how quickly you need the DVD. Do you produce DVDs for memorial services?
Yes. We can do a beautiful DVD tribute to be shown at the memorial
service for your loved one. Since memorial DVDs typically require
a quick turnaround, there will be an additional "rush" charge
of approximately $30.
